Avi had the ambition to grow in his company and become a leader, but didn't know where to start. He had questions about how to play the game of climbing the corporate ladder and how to excel once he got there. He also had questions about how to lead a team, how to hear their needs better, and how to help groups collaborate and innovate instead of working in silos.

“I am interacting with the world around me and people are seeing me interact, there is a different game that is going on inside and each of us are tunneling through these different tunnels in different ways to figure out the real purpose or rather the actual ground where we are interacting is not satisfying.”

Breakthrough

During the course, Avi developed the skills for diagnosing messes, making maps of new and alternative futures, and becoming a new beginner in any situation. He learned how to take powerful action and initiative in the face of breakdowns that others ignored, and energized his teams to work together in designing solutions. He also learned how to give up being a victim of situations and how to see life as an unfolding of happenings.

During the first half of The Power Course, Avi had two promotions, landing as a Senior Director of Product at Microsoft in the space of Cloud and AI. He significantly increased his salary and went from being a small team leader to leading a major initiative at Microsoft. Avi's dedication to the course and his willingness to learn and grow helped him achieve great success in his career. 

As an added benefit, Avi also significantly improved his relationship with his family and friends. His transformation is a testament to the power of the course and his own abilities.

Skills and Sensibilities Developed

The Achievement Award is given to those that courageously undertake and complete at least one year of transformative adventure and take entrepreneurial action to redesign themselves, their work, and their worlds in a significant way.

More About Avi

Avi lives in Redmond, WA, and is the father of two little rowdies and the husband of a loving partner. He has a Master in Computer Science (Univ of Minnesota) + MBA (Booth School of Business, Univ of Chicago)

So far, I have been focused on helping the world reach its potential through Microsoft’s products and services - from Core Windows OS to Xbox to Skype to Azure. Currently working on developing Industry-focused AI Capabilities in Azure. While serving the customers, as a manager, I am also committed to transforming my team and everyone in my scope of influence to realize their full potential in serving our company’s mission.
